Lens guide
Polarised cuts glare bouncing off flat surfaces — water, wet road, snow. The clearest choice for driving and anything near water. It can make some LCD screens look dark at certain angles, which is the trade.
Gradient is dark at the top and clears toward the bottom. Made for a face looking ahead: shade for the sky, enough light to read a menu.
Mirrored reflects light away before it reaches the lens. Brightest conditions, and it hides the eyes.
Photochromic darkens in UV and clears indoors. One pair for both, at the cost of a few seconds' transition. Behind a windscreen it barely darkens — car glass already blocks most UV.
Tinted is colour without polarisation. The lightest option, and the most forgiving indoors.
Every Sunsunglasses lens is UV400 regardless of tint: it blocks 100% of UVA and UVB. Darkness and UV protection are unrelated — a dark lens with no UV filter opens the pupil and lets more UV in than no glasses at all.
Fit & measurements
Three numbers describe a frame, printed on the inside of the left temple and listed on every product page: lens width — bridge width — temple length, in millimetres. A 50–20–145 frame has 50mm lenses, a 20mm bridge and 145mm arms.
Measure a pair you already like and match the first two numbers within 2mm. Those govern how the frame sits; temple length has the most give.
Total width matters more than lens width alone. The frame should end at the edge of your face, not past it — if the hinges sit wider than your temples the frame slides down.
Narrow bridge, low nose: look for larger bridge numbers or adjustable nose pads. Our titanium frames all have them.
Prescription lenses
Any frame in the Optical category takes a prescription, and most of the sunglasses do too.
Order the frame, then email your prescription to hello@sunsunglasses.com with the order number. We will confirm whether the frame suits your lens power before glazing — strong prescriptions do not work in every shape, and we would rather say so than send you something that will not.
Single vision is included. Varifocal and high-index lenses are quoted case by case.
Care & repairs
Rinse with cool water before wiping. Most lens scratches are dust being dragged across a dry lens by a cloth.
Use the microfibre cloth in the case. Paper towel and shirt cotton are both abrasive enough to haze a coating over time.
Keep them out of a hot car. Heat is what warps acetate and loosens the bond on a mirror coating.
Two hands when taking them off — one-handed removal is what pulls hinges out of true.
Loose hinges, bent arms and nose-pad replacement are free for as long as you own the frame. Post them to us and we will send them back adjusted.

Returns within 30 days, for any reason. The frame needs to be unworn and in the case it arrived in. We refund to the original payment method once it is back with us.
Prescription-glazed lenses are made to your eyes and cannot be resold, so those are non-returnable unless the glazing is wrong — in which case we redo it.
Two-year warranty
Every frame carries a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects: hinge failure, frame cracking at a stress point, coating delamination.
It does not cover scratches, sitting on them, or loss. It is a warranty, not insurance.
